www.birradicapri.itBirra di Capri is the first real beer to be produced on the island. Brewed according to centuries old traditional methods, this non-pasteurized, unfiltered, and entirely additive-free product is made from only the best natural ingredients: water, barley malt, and hops.
Birra di Capri has all the characteristics of the finest real beers; a slightly cloudy appearance, occasional traces of natural sediment, and a subtle effervescence, this latter giving it its particularly refreshing taste. The Birra di Capri is made in small quantities according to the Champenoise method; with the beer being transferred from barrels in to individual bottles where they are left to undergo a second period of fermentation.
It is the barley malt which lends the beer its characteristic golden color and soft texture, whilst the hops create its unmistakable bitter taste. This deliciously light lager is served in a 75cl. 'champagnotta' glass at a temperature of 8 - 10°C.
As an aperitif or with a meal, Birra di Capri provides the perfect accompaniment to delicate appetizers and white meat dishes.
