Once the property of the noble Barons Monti della Corte, the building, with its fine Neoclassical architectural style, is one of the very few surviving historic mansion houses which can be found in Anacapri.

Villa le Scale enjoys a priviledged position in the immediate vicinity of the house built by the eminent Swedish physician and author, Axel Munthe, which has now been transformed in to a fascinating museum. Villa le Scale's refined and graceful ambiance is the result of a comprehensive refurbishment project supervised by the owner, an antiquarian and art collector of great repute.
