Lido del Faro
www.lidofaro.comA mere ten minutes away from Anacapri's historic center, at the end of a strikingly beautiful panoramic road, lies the bathing establishment and restaurant Lido del Faro. Situated right on the water's edge beneath Capri's majestic lighthouse, the Lido del Faro was built into the jagged rocks of the island coastline in 1971 by the D'Esposito family, who took great care so as not to impair the beauty of the site, and to create a facility in perfect harmony with the natural environment.
Seated on the restaurant's sunny terrace, just a few meters above the level of the sea, guests are treated to both breathtaking views and excellent food. The Lido has gained a reputation for its lunch menu featuring fabulous same-day-fresh fish and seafood. The restaurant is also open for dinner on Friday and Saturday during the months of June and July and every evening in August.
Not to be missed, Lido del Faro's prawn and rocket salad, linguine with mussels and courgette flowers and delicious Capri-style ravioli. Not surprisingly, the produce of the sea is a major protagonist in main courses such as local pezzogna fish cooked with tomatoes and herbs. A selection of irresistible desserts, including the wickedly rich Torta Caprese, awaits the sweet of tooth. Pizza enthusiasts will love the fragrant pizzas cooked in Lido del Faro's traditional wood burning oven.
Lido del Faro - Location
Almost directly beneath Capri's lighthouse, in one of the island's most attractive bays, the Restaurant Lido del Faro is situated in the immediate vicinity of the bathing establishment with which it shares its name, and just a ten minute bus ride from the center of Anacapri.
