Capri Restaurants and cuisine
In the immediate vicinity of the Piazzetta of Capri, hidden away amidst the narrow alleyways of the historic center, or on sweeping panoramic terraces directly above the sea, the Island of Capri is home to any number of fabulous little restaurants and bistrots. Some of these family-run eateries have been serving the island's delicious cuisine to holidaymakers for generations, others are of much more recent inauguration. All offer excellent local food, using the freshest fish and sun-ripened fruit and vegetables.
The cuisine of Capri is not dissimilar to Neapolitan and Mediterranean cooking, the major protagonists being tomato, olive oil, garlic, peperoncino, basil, oregano, parsley, mint, fennel, marjoram, capers, olives and anchovies.
