Villa Pollio was, for many years, the home of one of the most historic families in Anacapri. The Pollio family lived here with their children, and raised courtyard animals in the adjacent garden to sell in their butcher shop, once located on the street level of the house. On the terrace overlooking the square, the women in the family would settle in the warm sun to do needlework and gossip about local comings and goings.
Today, their grandchildren have decided to open the doors of Villa Pollio to visitors to Anacapri, renovating the family home and transforming it into a lovely guest-house in the center of Anacapri. Each of the five rooms is named for one of the Pollio children - Gisa, Liberato, Clara, Ottavio, and Michele - and all were renovated and newly furnished in 2017. Guests are welcomed with the warm smiles of Roberta and Fabio, who are always happy to suggest the best spots to visit, restaurants to try, and beaches to choose for a relaxing vacation in true island style.
Right in the Center
The villa is located on Piazza Cerio, right in the center of Anacapri and just steps from public transportation, shops, cafès, and restaurants.
Two guest rooms have a private terrace, and the others can take advantage of the pretty comunale terrace overlooking the piazza. Rooms have mini-fridges and electric kettles, and shops, restaurants, and cafès are all just steps away (including the historic grocery store owned by Liberato). It's easy to explore on foot or catch one of the small local buses to the Piazzetta in Capri, the Blue Grotto, the lighthouse, and the beaches. In short, all you need for a perfectly stress-free vacation!
