Anacapri - Fortini (the Forts)

The Il Sentiero dei Fortini pathway, abandoned for many years, has been recently repaired and made accessible to walkers by the administrative council of Anacapri and the Archaeological Superintendence of Naples.
The coastal route is incredibly beautiful, passing through wild landscapes characterized by lush Mediterranean vegetation, at times just meters away from the sea edge.
From Anacapri, take the bus, getting off at the Orrico stop. Here, after roughly 50 meters to the left one finds a track made up of a series of steps leading to the first fort, or blockhouse. At the end of the path, turn right and after 100 meters one arrives at Niglio point and the Orrico Fort.
Following the track one comes across the next fort, that of Mesola, and, onwards, that of Pino. From here one proceeds to Punta Carena and the lighthouse where buses are available for the journey back to Anacapri.
