Ticket price: a single ride costs €2.40.
Where to buy: tickets are sold at Marina Grande, right in front of the ferry ticket offices.
Payment methods: credit and debit cards are accepted. The tap & go system is active at the turnstiles – just tap your card to enter. Each passenger must use a separate card.
If you’re traveling in a group and have only one card, you can buy multiple tickets directly at the ticket office.Duration: the ride takes about 4 minutes.
Operating period: the funicular is closed from January until Easter for maintenance. During this time, a replacement bus service is available.
Waiting times: from April to October there can be long lines, but the funicular remains the fastest way to reach Capri town from the port. Guests staying at hotels on the island can use a priority lane to skip the queue.
Accessibility: the funicular is fully accessible for passengers with reduced mobility, with elevators available at both Marina Grande and Capri town stations.
Luggage: your ticket includes one small hand luggage up to 10 kg. For larger bags, you’ll need to buy an extra ticket.
Children: children under one meter in height travel for free.
Pets: small dogs are allowed on board, provided they wear a leash and muzzle.
Tip for the return trip: in the late afternoon, lines for the return to Marina Grande can get long. If you’re traveling light and feel like stretching your legs, you can walk down to the port via Via Mulo or the old funicular path – it’s a scenic 10-minute walk.

On-board tickets: buses are equipped with a tap&go service — simply tap your card or phone on the reader to purchase your ticket. Each passenger must use a different card. If you're travelling as a group but only have one card, you can buy multiple tickets at the ticket office or directly from the driver. Tickets purchased from the driver cost €2.90 each. Cash is not accepted on board.
Summer service: during the summer months, buses may skip intermediate stops when they are already full.
Accessibility: not all buses are accessible to passengers with reduced mobility, and waiting times may be longer if you require an accessible vehicle.
