Emozioni d'Estate / Emozioni d'Autunno – September 2026 events calendar

Programme of September events organized by the Città di Capri across various island locations. The calendar includes concerts, theatre and dance performances, book presentations, exhibitions, talks, cultural events, and an international vintage Vespa rally.

August 23 – September 11, 2026 – Capri
Capridrama Opera Festival

Opera festival organized by the Città di Capri across several island venues. The programme features four productions: Turandot by G. Puccini at Villa Lysis (August 23–24), Il Trovatore by G. Verdi at the Certosa di San Giacomo (September 1), Opera Beyond the Sea – Concert at sea (September 4), and Livietta e Tracollo by G.B. Pergolesi at Villa San Michele (September 10–11).

Festival del Paesaggio Anacapri 2026 – The Observer

Group exhibition curated by Arianna Rosica and Gianluca Riccio, as part of the tenth edition of the Festival del Paesaggio di Anacapri. Participating artists: Francis Alÿs, Ali Cherri, Irene Fenara, Andrea Francolino, Eva Giolo, Elisa Sighicelli, Luca Vitone, and Klara Zetterholm. Opening on September 5 at 6:30 PM.

September 5 – 30, 2026 – Sala Consiliare della Città di Capri, Capri
Volti e immagini di un'isola – Art exhibition by Capri in Arte

Art exhibition by the Associazione Capri in Arte dedicated to the images and faces of the island. Opening on September 5 at 5:30 PM; the exhibition remains open until September 30, Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

September 6 – 13, 2026 – Capri
Solennità Maria SS. della Libera 2026

Celebrations in honour of Maria SS. della Libera, organized by the Parrocchia Maria SS. della Libera with the patronage of the Città di Capri. The programme includes daily religious services, a rowing boat race (September 11), a children's play area with inflatables (September 10), and a closing evening on September 13 featuring a comedy show by Gino Fastidio and a concert by Monica Sarnelli, followed by a procession to the Borgo di Marina Grande.

September 7 - 13, 2026 – Villa Rosa, Anacapri
Anacaprifamusica 2026 – 27th edition

Series of piano recitals and duo performances curated by artistic director Maria Sbeglia, held at Villa Rosa at 7:30 pm each evening. The week's program features Giuliano Mazzoccante, the piano duo Marco Schiavo and Sergio Marchegiani, Miki Lubrano Lavadera, the duo Maria Roberta Milano and Giuseppe Maiorca, the duo Riccardo and Alessandro Gagliardi, and Han Huang.

September 9 – November 3, 2026 – Mediateca Cacace, Anacapri
Il Respiro dell'Oceano (The Breath of the Ocean)

Photography exhibition featuring a selection of images from the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation Environmental Photography Award. The opening takes place on September 9 at 11:00 am at Mediateca Cacace, via Giuseppe Orlandi, Anacapri, and the exhibition runs through November 3, 2026.

September 10 - 11, 2026 – Villa San Michele, Anacapri
Livietta e Tracollo

Opera by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi staged as part of the Capridrama Opera Festival, with direction and dramaturgy by Filippo Rotondo and musical direction and piano by Federico Cappa. Ginevra Martalò and Filippo Rotondo perform the title roles, with set design and costumes by Matilde Folli. Performances take place at 8:00 pm at Villa San Michele, Anacapri; tickets cost €20 full price or €10 reduced.

Love Songs – Tribute concert to Burt Bacharach

Acoustic duo concert by Chroma on Stage, featuring Anna Di Tommaso (vocals) and Stefano Giordano (piano), starting at 9:00 PM. Free admission.

September 11 - 13, 2026 – Fondazione Serena Messanelli Zweig, Capri
Mirabilis – Video Installation

Video installation by Ciro Albanese featuring virtual artistic reconstructions of Roman-era Capri, hosted at the Fondazione Serena Messanelli Zweig, via Monsignor Carlo Serena 5, Capri. Open Friday 6:00–8:00 pm and Saturday–Sunday 11:00 am–1:00 pm and 6:00–8:00 pm.

September 12, 2026 – Certosa di San Giacomo, Chiostro Piccolo, Capri
Antonino D'Emilio Scholarship – Sul podio dell'anima

Award ceremony for the Antonino D'Emilio scholarship, with the composition prize going to Antonino Caracò and the piano prize to Jovanni Pandolfo, held at 7:00 pm at the Chiostro Piccolo of the Certosa di San Giacomo, Capri. The evening continues with Jovanni Pandolfo's recital "Il Cervello nella Noce," a musical fable written and composed by Antonino Caracò, performed by Jovanni Pandolfo and Antonino Caracò on piano with narration by Andrea Tarantino and Luca de Lorenzo, hosted by Andrea Tarantino.

September 12, 2026 – Sala Pollio, Capri
Book presentation: "Siamo nati per brillare – Encomio alla vita"

Presentation of the novel by Massimo Bianco, published by GFE Edizioni, organized by CapriYoga&Lab, starting at 6:30 PM. Hosted by Santo Scirè. A convivial buffet follows for guests.

Capri Art Music Festival – 9th Edition / La Soubrette in Dieci Mosse

Musical show as part of the Capri Art Music Festival – 9th Edition "Antonino D'Emilio", under the artistic direction of Pinuccio De Gregorio, starting at 6:30 PM. Featuring Silvia Felisetti (soubrette), with Massimo Ghetti (flute) and Annalisa Mannarini (piano). Free admission.

Closing Evening – Settembrata Anacaprese 2026

Closing event of the Settembrata Anacaprese 2026, taking place at 9:30 pm in Sala 1 of Cinema Paradiso, with thanks to all participants and a screening of the opening parade video curated by Salvatore Vivo.

La Grotta Azzurra a Capri e la Grotta di Tiberio a Sperlonga

Lecture by Fabrizio Slavazzi and Cristiana Ruggini, of the Direzione regionale Musei Nazionali Lazio, part of a series of talks linked to the exhibition "Il mito di Capri. A duecento anni dalla scoperta della Grotta Azzurra (1826–2026)." The talk begins at 6:30 pm in the Refettorio of the Certosa di San Giacomo, with free admission; the venue is open in the evening from 6:00 to 10:00 pm.

Photography exhibition by Selene D'Alessio titled "Fotogrammi, Ritagli esistenziali," opening on September 19 at 6:30 pm at Centro Caprense Ignazio Cerio with saxophonist Marco Ruggiero, wines from Cantine Olivella and refreshments from Concettina ai Tre Santi. A cultural series featuring a program of music and theatre events set in the evocative setting of Villa Lysis. The schedule includes concerts, theatrical performances, and artistic shows, with the participation of artists and companies.

Author’s Walks – In Search of Capritudine

A series of cultural walks curated by Renato Esposito, dedicated to discovering the history, landscapes, literature, and unique atmosphere of the island of Capri. The program includes guided itineraries, sunrise and sunset concerts, cultural encounters, and themed experiences held in various locations across the island between June and November 2026.

July 3 – October 18, 2026 – Certosa di San Giacomo, Capri
The Myth of Capri – 200 Years Since the Discovery of the Blue Grotto

An exhibition curated by Luca Di Franco and Massimo Osanna, hosted at the Musei e Parchi Archeologici di Capri at the Certosa di San Giacomo, marking the two-hundredth anniversary of the discovery of the Blue Grotto. The show traces the island's mythological and cultural legacy from 1826 to the present day.
