For more than a century, the Aurora restaurant and pizzeria, owned by the D'Alessio family, has been serving visitors to Capri with the finest food and wine.

Traditional treats with a pinch of creativity

The restaurant, on the fashionable Via Fuorlovado, has gained wide spread international acclaim for its excellent Mediterranean cuisine and for its traditional Neapolitan and Caprese specialties to which Chef Franco Aversa adds that sprinkling of culinary innovation, which places the Aurora among the most exclusive restaurants on the island.

Order as starter the famous pizza all'acqua, an original old recipe of pizza, served with mozzarella and red peppers.

The Aurora restaurant was among the very first establishments to introduce a selection of quality wines to Capri and over the years has continued to seek out the very best Italian and International wines.

This passion for fine wines and the ever-expanding wine cellar of the Aurora has led to the opening of the centrally located Vino , a fabulous wine bar with an impressive exposition of wines, which, from day one, has proved to be extremely popular with locals and visitors to the island alike.

Consistently the best food on the island. Once you get past the crowds standing outside waiting for a table and you are then seated, you will get by far the best food on the island. The menu has just about everything you could wish for and the quality and consistency is exceptional. Sarah , the " maitre'd " does an amazing job scheduling so be patient with her because she is the best ! No one dish is better than the next as they are all superbly cooked and served . If you like pizza they have a thin crust that is wonderful. The waiters seem to get everything done effortlessly particularly when the crowds are milling on the street. Mia the owner really watches over everything and it shows. Eat early if you do not want to stand around but you can also eat late, after 10.30, if you like a more relaxing meal. We have been coming to the island for more than 20 years and this is the place to eat for quality and consistency. Bravo !

We ate well. The pizza at Acqua Pazza must absolutely be tried, even just as an appetizer. Never seen it so thin! The fish is fresh and of good quality. The tables are right next to each other, almost like one single long table. Party music, so people often start clapping to the rhythm of the music. The atmosphere is that of a Capri party, so it is not recommended for those looking for something soft. We had absolutely no problems with the staff and service. Actually, very kind.

Typical historic location... I was there for the first time... you can breathe the atmosphere of Capri in the air... the guys are attentive and very helpful... but above all... excellent, truly excellent food! Unique flavors that are not easy to find... I found them here! The Neapolitan cuisine perceived at its best... but I felt a pinch of Sicilianness😜! We are similar... and unique!!! As a good Sicilian... I will definitely return if I am in these parts!!! Highly recommended... quality-price ratio for where we are and for what we ate... excellent!
