2026 News

From May 2026, Casa Paolino is open in the heart of Capri, at Hotel La Canasta, Via Campo di Teste 4 — just a five-minute walk from the Piazzetta. Born to complement — not replace — the iconic Paolino Lemontrees, Casa Paolino offers an intimate and welcoming setting with a menu that bridges tradition and contemporary taste, from beloved classics like the Bomba di Paolino to fresh new creations.

Citrus trees and celebrities

Over the years many Hollywood stars, movie directors, fashion designers, and jet-set celebrities have made da Paolino their Italian restaurant of choice for dining under the lemon trees. The restaurant’s guest book, which goes back to 1978, is like a who’s who of each decade.

A family tradition

Generation after generation, the De Martino family has been serving Caprese island cuisine to both locals and visitors.

A traditional meal at da Paolino starts off with an appetizer of mixed vegetable and seafood antipasti, followed by the catch of the day, and accompanied by any of a superb selection of the Campania region's wines.

A friendly heads-up to anyone on a diet: da Paolino's celebrated dessert buffet, piled high with deliciously sweet concoctions, has achieved legendary status on the island—and beyond!

A truly special event

Da Paolino is the perfect choice for everyone who loves traditional island cooking. This very special Italian restaurant is the perfect location for a luxurious wedding reception, banquet, or even a refined dinner with colleagues after an important meeting.

Within easy walking distance of Marina Grande, the restaurant is just short taxi ride from the center of Capri and Anacapri. Those travelling from the Amalfi Coast or Naples can book the restaurant's "Fast Boat Transfer".

In spring and fall the restaurant is also open for lunch. On Sundays it offers brunch with traditional Campania dishes. The Lemon Garden Bar is open every day starting at 5 pm for anyone who wants to enjoy the atmosphere, even just for a drink.

Improving the preparation.

It is now called 'Casa Paolino' and has moved in accordance with the space of a hotel. Location and service are top-notch. Moving on to the menu, it is very rich and varied. We had pasta with rabbit, a type from Capri and this area, along with other seafood dishes that can be seen in the photos. Overall, a positive experience, but since the prices are not insignificant, at that point the preparation – given the quality is assured – must be excellent.

Beautiful Setting, Disappointing Value

I happened to visit Casa Paolino almost by chance, expecting to find the historic Margherita Restaurant. The location is beautiful, the atmosphere is pleasant, and the staff is friendly and hardworking. The team does their best and provides attentive service. Unfortunately, the overall experience did not live up to the expectations. In my opinion, the restaurant is significantly overrated for what it offers. The prices are extremely high: paying €19 for a single prawn or langoustine and €120 for a risotto for two is difficult to justify. The menu itself is not particularly innovative or memorable. In conclusion, while I appreciated the service and the ambience, the value for money is simply not there. Capri offers many other restaurants that provide a more satisfying dining experience for the same price or less. I was left with the impression that much of the restaurant's popularity is driven by its fashionable status rather than the quality of its cuisine. Personally, I would not recommend it.

Casa Paolino, a poorly executed clone.

Casa Paolino, a disappointment! The menu does not live up to the historic Paolino, limited choices, portion sizes need to be reviewed, and prices are not in line with quality and name.... The desserts are almost nonexistent.

Dinner at Da Paolino 01/06

We made a reservation 2 months before, on the same day we received an email that the reservation was changed from time to 23 h(30 min later), we responded to the email asking for cancrulum since they had changed the reservation but we did not get a reply and they do not answer the phone. We arrived at the restaurant and the manager claimed that this happens because of their overbooking policy. An absurd and disrespectful customer, since they charge 100 euros per person in case of no show but change the reservation on the same day and arrive on time and say that the table is not ready pq still has people eating. Despite the beautiful environment and good care by the boys I later found a disrespect.
