With its breathtaking terrace overlooking the turquoise waters off Capri and chic blue-and-white interiors inspired by the sensational views, Il Riccio in Anacapri has been one of the island's most exclusive dining spots since 2013. Its spectacular location just meters from the Blue Grotto, cosmopolitan island style, and unparalleled cuisine has positioned this waterfront restaurant as the leader in the island's dining scene.

Il Riccio is one of the restaurants managed by the luxury Capri Palace Hotel, but it is open to all diners...if, however, you are lucky enough to book in advance and nab a table in its exclusive thatched-roof dining room. Relax over specialties like the famous Plateau Royal, a sumptuous dish featuring fresh Mediterranean fish and seafood, including sea urchins and oysters.

No meal at Il Riccio is complete without a foray into their iconic dessert room, decorated with artisan majolica tiles that set off an endless array of sweet island treats that include many of the traditional pastries and desserts from Naples and the rest of Italy: babà al rum, torta caprese, tarts, sfogliatelle, delizia al limone, and more. It's a true paradise for lovers of luscious desserts.

Sitting on a clifftop directly above the water, Il Riccio took over the spot from the landmark Add’o Riccio Restaurant, a beloved spot for years in Anacapri. Today, guests here enjoy the same unforgettable culinary experience and warmly informal atmosphere.

Terrible restaurant, we came by boat bringing 3 clients and we, the Mariani, couldn't go up to eat because there are 5 seats... they brought on board rice salad that was dripping with oil, terrible, I will never recommend it to any client, you are just appearance and that's it.

DO NOT GO

This is my first ever negative review, but I feel compelled to write because the previous negative reviews were not negative enough to accurately describe this place. We were hoping for a romantic dinner, but: - Location: Inconvenient. Requires a shuttle from the associated hotel in Anacapri. We happened to take the shuttle with someone who described herself as "in charge of the shuttles." She explained that we should let the hostess know when we want to leave and she would arrange for the shuttle to take us back to, at least, the Anacapri hotel, but more likely our hotel in Capri. When we were ready to leave -- sooner rather than later, because of the below -- we were told that, as non-guests of the Anacapri hotel, we could not use the shuttle. Of course we relayed the message given us by the leader of shuttles, but to no avail. - Atmosphere: Extremely unpleasant. Much too bright. Dirty coverings blocking much of the view. Screaming children of all ages -- infants, toddlers, and above. Most perplexing of all, they kept oscillating the music volume between barely a whisper and a house music level booming that required the waiter to yell for us to hear him. I'm not sure who on the noise-level-preference spectrum this was ment to accommodate, but a fail for sure. - Service: Extremely slow, despite the restaurant being 1/3 full. We received our cocktails well after our entree, and had to send one back. - Food: Very average. Cocktails well below average. We didn't try the storied "Temptation Room," both because we were very ready to leave and because it has windows. Looking in, it was a motel-buffet level spread -- this in an area where gorgeous desserts are impossible to avoid. In short, do not go.

Best lunch I’ve had!

Best lunch of my life! Food is rustic and plentiful and the lobster salad sublime. Anna was brilliant at helping us choose what to eat. We arrived by hired boat and honestly, it felt like a huge treat. I loved how simple the decor was - the fabulous plates and comfy chairs. The incredible view. I loved the rose that was recommended and spritzes we drank. The room of temptation is quirky and beautifully decorated. The aesthetic added to the charm of the place. Yes it’s expensive. But as an experience, I couldn’t fault it. I loved the simple but elegant cream cake brought out to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Thank you so much for making our lunch so memorable. The view from the ladies toilets is so stunning! Couldn’t fault it. I’d go back in a heartbeat.

Disappointment.

I have been going to Riccio since its opening, and this year's experience has been very disappointing. I got married the previous round in Portofino, and we had informed them - at their request - that it was a special evening, and we would appreciate a front-row table. That said, before going down, we had an aperitif on the Dior terrace, and after a few minutes, they invited us to go down, as the kitchen would soon close (table reserved for 9:30 PM). Table in the third row with a view of a pole, with front-row tables available, so we requested a table change, which was kindly granted. Cocktail, 1 bottle of POL Roger, a shared seafood dish, dessert: 600 euros for two. A really poor fish dish, not justified by the dedicated service. But the service was truly disappointing, rushed, and the bill was brought without being requested: I am really sorry, but it has lost all its charm, and it no longer works, at least for me.
