Blue Grotto Transport: simply the best!

  1. The best way to see Capri by sea if you're pressed for time
  2. No reservations required
  3. Non-stop departures

When visiting the island of Capri in Italy, one experience not to be missed is a trip around the island by sea, during which you can discover all of its most beautiful and picturesque marine sights, including the majestic Faraglioni rock formations and the hauntingly mysterious Blue Grotto.

Upon disembarking at Marina Grande, head to Pier 23 and hop aboard one of Laser Capri's boats to immediately begin exploring the island by sea. With Laser Capri there are non-stop departures all day every half hour.

The stops along the trip of the island by sea include all the most breathtaking along Capri's coastline: from Marina Grande, the trip continues to the Grotta Bianca sea cave and the Arco Naturale stone arch, passes the Faraglioni rock formations, and rounds the Punta Carena lighthouse, with a stop at the Blue Grotto.

The staff at the Sorrento location of Laser Capri Boat Tours were excellent. The associate there patiently and clearly explained the options for getting to Capri and back from Sorrento, along with the available times. I was also interested in doing the Capri island boat tour along with the Blue Grotto. They indicated that the price of the tour is the same but with the purchase of the ticket that includes the Grotto visit, you have the option to take the Laser Capri’s boat to the Blue Grotto and separately purchase the ticket for that part at the site of the Blue Grotto. It’s important to pay attention to the fact that the boat that goes to the Blue Grotto only goes there and back, and it’s the separate boat you must take for the tour around the island. While the boat that goes around the island passes the Grotto, it does not let you disembark there to experience the location. I was also informed about potential high tide and waves that may make it impractical to go on one of the days I initially asked about and they shared what day would be more appropriate. With this information I was able to purchase the tickets with confidence and truly enjoy the whole experience. To the dude at the Laser Capri location on Capri island that helped me change the time on my return ticket back to Sorrento to an alternate slot, thanks :) Be helpful like your colleague on Sorrento and I’m certain you’ll see more people appreciate your effort. Grazie mille!

Disgraceful business practices - scamming tourists

Laser Capri are the first ticket office you see as you disembark the ferry. Nothing more than a scam - they take passengers with absolutely no intention of them going into the Blue Grotto - which is the expectation. Firstly there's an extra €18 to pay to men in the rowboats which is fine but not disclosed. We were the second group to go out and we later discovered the first group didn't go into the Grotto as the tide was too high - they take your money knowing you won't be going into the Grotto. They claim they are not aware of the high tide until they get there ?! How does a company operating a boat on the water not consult weather and tide information?! I presume someone is communicating with the men in the roboats about the tides in advance?! There's also a disclaimer on the ticket that if the wait to go in is longer than 45 min they will keep going. With the amount of people on the boat there's no way they would get everyone in that Grotto in under 45min. Reading the reviews - it seems rare that anyone gets to actually go into the Grotto with this company. The guys in the ticket booth are beyond rude. Dismissive and unbothered - their response? "Come back another day" - unlikely for tourists on a day trip to see the very thing they promise. Watch out for Carlo in the ticket office - who's behaviour I will liken to a used car salesman
