Hotel Mamela

We booked 3 same sized rooms and they gave us 1 bunker 2 normal rooms when we went to the reception and asked to change the room, they said that we would be given a sea view for an additional 20 euros per night, but when we checked out, they asked us for 200 euros per night and made up different excuses for us, like, "There are 3 people in the room, you specifically asked us for a sea view, etc." They ask for 20 euros for each suitcase brought from the port, but they don't inform us in advance.

Hotel Mamela is wonderful - beautifully decorated, comfortable but still Capri glam, and well-located by the main strip in Capri town. The rooms are spacious and bright, and the bathrooms get top marks - my room had a large walk-in shower and huge bathtub. My suite had ample closet space (four in total!), a large lounge area with seating for four, and a large terrace with outdoor couch and two loungers. The suite was clean and comfortable, and offered a peaceful sleep. My room also had a view of the famous Faragolini rocks of Capri, which was a treat! The common areas were lovely - the pool and bar are a vibe, with great views of the water. The crowd is glamorous, the staff are outgoing and kind, and the entire experience feels luxurious yet very comfortable. The hotel is located a short walk from shops and restaurants, and quite close to the archeological museum, gardens of Augustus, and via Krupp which offers an easy walk to beach clubs and marina piccolo. The staff were easily accessible via WhatsApp, and arranged luggage porter service, and taxis from Marina Grande to Capri Town. Mamela was recommended by a friend who visits every year, and I completely understand why it's won their heart. I will be back!

Have been to Capri maybe 8x. First time staying at this hotel. Great breakfast and an excellent location, all within easy walking distance of everything. The rooms are very clean, and the hotel is well maintained throughout. The pool is beautiful and a great place to relax. The only area that could make the stay even better is the concierge service. It would be helpful if they took a more proactive approach by offering suggestions, asking guests about their plans, and assisting more thoroughly with reservations to help guide the overall experience. Would stay here again!
