Hotel Mamela

I stayed at Hotel Mamela in July 2025 for my 50th birthday, expecting a special and memorable experience for my family. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the most disappointing hotel stays I’ve ever had despite spending nearly €10,000 there for the week. The room was not properly cleaned on arrival, there was a used shower cap hanging in the bathroom, the sink was blocked and emitted a foul smell, and we had to repeatedly ask for basic essentials such as toilet paper, soap, and bathrobes. The water pressure in the shower was so poor that it only worked properly on a few days of our stay. Despite raising these issues several times, management offered little help, no gesture, no apology, nothing. To make matters worse, the hotel incorrectly charged me for an “extra person” even though there was absolutely no additional guest staying in the room. I raised this issue and was assured it would be corrected, but it never was. After many emails, the hotel finally apologized and promised a €600 refund as a goodwill gesture. I provided all requested bank details immediately, yet months later, no refund has ever been paid. For a property positioning itself as a luxury hotel, this level of service and lack of accountability is unacceptable. It’s not just about the money; it’s about integrity, honesty, and respect for guests. I would strongly advise others to think twice before booking here. There are many other hotels in Capri that truly understand what hospitality means, sadly, this is not one of them.

The hotel was truly beautiful, rooms, pool and restaurant but really made the difference is the incredible staff and services. We really felt at home and loved it so much that we came back after 3 weeks for a shorter stay!

Hotel Mamela is once again the best hotel. Breakfast, location and cleanliness are impeccable. The pool is certainly the most beautiful on the island, both in size and type. The most important thing, however, remains the quality of Service. Here, in addition to great professionals ready to do anything to make your stay special, there are people of heart who thanks to their sincere smile, accompany you at all times and make you feel at home. The difference between this and a thousand other luxury structures is precisely this; to be surrounded by elegance and attention to detail but with respect for human warmth. A big thank you to all the wonderful Team pool Shameer, Jose, Vincenzo and Guido. Thanks to the breakfast team with a special hug for Sabrina and Era. A general thanks to all the people who work with passion and commitment in this structure. Thanks also to the property that each have guarantees the quality of spaces and services. But the biggest thanks goes to Maria Rosaria, Francesco and Marcello, who also this year allowed us to live a dream. Waiting to be able to hug you again, we wish you all the best. This was our first time visiting Capri and after a lot of research we chose Hotel Mamela for our four night stay. Breakfast is included with the rate and it is an excellent breakfast. The rooms are spacious and the hotel quite charming. The staff is excellent as well. All of the outlets in the hotel are Italy Type L. Walking out of the hotel you are not far from the central pizzaa, shops and restaurants. If you are staying at Hotel Mamela please note it is a ten minute walk from where the taxi will drop you off. As it can be quite hilly you may want to enquire about their baggage service, though to take the taxi back to the port you do have to walk the ten minutes with your bags. We would definitely stay here again!
