Avoid at all costs!

An awful day out. We were told to arrive at 8:30am. I chose this trip because we were staying at the Hotel Il Faro which is right on the Marina Piccola, 2 minutes from the meeting point. It was never clear that the actual departure would take place by mini bus from a different marina. We waited and waited, kept being told “just 10 minutes”, and eventually left by bus. We got onto the boat at 10:15am- 1h45m later than the original meeting time ! We had been asked to pay an “early departure fee” - an extra €10 each. Why pay for early departure if we are waiting around for nearly two hours?! The destinations were rammed with tourists- not the fault of Seatours- but their marketing suggests you get to the towns earlier “when they may be less crowded”- you don’t, don’t believe that. Next, the boat was very small, so two couples had to sit up front on the bow- no room in the back. Fine on a good day- but it was a cold, windy day. On the return journey, we were continually soaked by the waves, it was cold, we spent 45 minutes constantly getting wet, and then had to take the minibus back to our hotel. Really unpleasant. There were no snacks or lunch. We had a beer after Positano but only when we asked for something to drink. No water offered at any time. And what happened to the Caprese lunch promised? Nothing. On our return we were offered a bottle of prosecco for the four of us up front, impossible to drink from the plastic cup as the boat was rolling around too much. I had the misfortune of visiting the toilet. I know all about boats having sailed all my life. I expect to use basic facilities. But there was no water available through the tap, no hand sanitizer on offer. The advertising material mentions visiting a cove to swim. We went in a “cave” - in fact a small bay-and were told there were fish. No further information given. Not sure what the extra €10 euro fee was for there! I couldn’t have changed into swimwear anyway- below decks on the boat were dirty and completely open to the other passengers. No information during the journey either, no history, geography or geology. Just one hotel was pointed out by the guide- “the largest hotel on the Amalfi coast ”- and that was it. All in all this was a terrible trip, overpriced and not worth it. And no limoncello either!

This tour was a great way to see the Amalfi Coast in a unique way. Why sit in traffic with busloads of people when you can be see the same sights from the sea with only ~12 people in your boat. The guide/captain were very friendly and made sure everyone had a great day. We had 90 minutes of free time in both towns of Amalfi and Positano. We were able to cruise right up to many cliffs, rock formations, and caves. We even at 2 swimming stops for anyone that wanted to take a dip in the Mediterranean. At the end of the tour the captain share a limoncello with everyone onboard to commemorate a memorable day.

Highly recommend this beautiful boat tour of Capri. We got to swim in a beautiful spot and spend a few hours on the island too. The tour guides were very knowledgble and made tour fun and interesting. We got complimentary panini, soft drinks, water and at the end we had Limoncello and Prosecco. It was a great day!
