NB: The Blue Grotto is subject to closure due to rough seas or strong winds. This means that weather conditions may change throughout the day, so the grotto may open and then close, or vice versa. For this reason, we cannot guarantee access to the grotto. Due to time constraints, the visit is only possible on tours lasting at least 3 hours.

We did the 3 hour private tour - best experience!! Everything was easy from booking online, meeting the boat captain was easy as we received text message of meeting spot in capri, the captain explained the plan and had drinks ready for us, your only additional costs is if you want to do blue grotto - highly recommend- its 19€ extra each, and the ferry is separate charge as well as we were heading to capri from positano. But compared to alot of other places this is well priced and good value!

We had such an amazing experience with the entire crew. Especially our skipper Massimo, who made sure we see all the beautiful Capri spots. The boat was extremely beautiful, comfortable and clean. We even received towels and swam in the beautiful sea of Capri. We will definitely come back.

Where does the Capri Island Tour private boat tour leave from?
The meeting point is Bar Il Fortino on Via Don Giobbe Ruocco 59 in the marina at Marina Grande. You board with the skipper at the time you chose when booking. The bar is only the meeting point so order something if you want to sit down or use the restroom.
What happens to the boat tour if the Blue Grotto is closed?
The tour goes ahead and its price stays the same since the Blue Grotto is always paid separately. The grotto closes in rough seas or strong winds and can close partway through the day. From March to the end of October you can check ahead on the status light on the Capri.com Blue Grotto page.
How much does it cost to enter the Blue Grotto from the boat?
Entry costs €19 per person and is paid on the spot by card or in cash. That covers the ticket and the rowboat that takes you inside the grotto and is not part of the tour price. The stop is optional and only possible on tours of 3 hours or more.
What is included in the private boat price?
The boat price covers the skipper and the swim stops. Beach towels and a freshwater shower are on board. Soft drinks in a cooler and life jackets are included along with fuel and taxes. Snorkeling gear is available on request while lunch is extra.
Does this boat tour work for a group of ten people?
Yes on some boats. The traditional gozzo and the Fratelli Aprea gozzo take 7 people and the Apreamare takes 8 while the Lancia Caprese and the Fratelli Aprea 40 take 12. The price is per boat and not per person. This tour is not the right choice if you get seasick.
Is the 2-hour or the 3-hour boat tour the better choice?
It depends on the Blue Grotto: the stop is only possible on tours of 3 hours or more. On the traditional gozzo in low season the difference is €100 per boat. In high season the 2-hour tour runs only on the traditional gozzo. For an unhurried swim as well pick 4 or 6 hours.
How do the deposit and the cancellation policy work?
You pay a 30% deposit when you book and a 4% service fee is added to the price. Cancellation is free up to 2 days before and after that the fee is 100%. If rough seas stop the tour it is rescheduled or canceled with no fee.
