Disappointing experience. Misleading description

We booked the Capri boat tour with Blue Grotto but unfortunately didn’t go to either destinations. When we arrived the skipper told us we would not be going to Capri. When we complained on what’s app to the tour operator they became very defensive and argumentative. They lacked proper customer service and took no accountability. The skipper agreed to take us anyways. Then once we got to blue grotto and there was a line. He told us it’s too touristy and when we said we don’t mind waiting in the line he got argumentative so we just sailed along the coast and tried to make the most of the day. We were told we would receive brunch with local delicacies but were given cheese bread and pasta salad. If we would have known that was all that was offered we would have prepared before the tour. It was disappointing that we did not receive what we paid for. We requested a refund and the tour operator refused it. This tour name and description should be changed. Lastly the boat was not equipped for 12 people. We had to sit on the landing areas or on the floor. We could have sit inside down below but that defeats the purpose of a scenic boat tour. There were not enough life vests. The overall experience was not what we hoped for.

Disappointing Experience – Misleading Description and Poor Customer Service

We were truly looking forward to this Capri boat tour, but unfortunately, the experience did not match the description or our expectations. First, the tour description promised a visit to the Blue Grotto, which was one of the main reasons we booked. When we asked to wait in line to enter, the skipper dismissed us, saying, “it’s nothing special” and got visibly upset. He continued arguing that he was “doing his best” and said we didn’t like the tour, which made the atmosphere very uncomfortable. While he was generally polite earlier on, his attitude became defensive and dismissive when we expressed our wishes for the tour we had paid for. The boat itself was not equipped to comfortably seat 12 people unless we all sat down below—completely defeating the purpose of a scenic boat experience. There also weren’t enough life vests or floatation devices for everyone to enjoy the water. When I asked to use a floating mat, he responded with frustration, banging his head lightly against the steering wheel and saying, “they’re just sitting here for nothing?” There was an orange drink on board and when I asked about it, the response was unnecessarily aggressive: “If you want something, just ask. I told you when we got on the boat but no one listened.” There seemed to be a language barrier, and instead of resolving the confusion, we were made to feel like we were the problem. At one point, we just stopped asking questions because we felt so misunderstood and unwelcome. When drinks started sliding around, we asked him to move them inside and were told, “I can’t drive and do the drinks at the same time.” Fair—but the tone was again unnecessarily defensive. Although we were promised a stop in Capri, we were never taken there. As for the food, the listing mentioned a “brunch with local delicacies,” but what we received was pasta salad and bread—a far cry from what was advertised. Had we known, we would have eaten before the tour. After the experience, we requested a refund through Viator, and the company refused—instead, they became argumentative via WhatsApp. They took no accountability, never apologized, and bizarrely sent a photo of four other guests (not in our group) as proof of something unclear, stating, “I’m showing this to Viator.” It felt extremely unprofessional. We booked this tour in good faith based on the promises in the listing. Sadly, it did not deliver, and the response from the company only added insult to injury. We simply wanted the experience we were promised

Disappointed the crew completely ruined our day.

I recently went on the Positano to Capri tour, and I’m incredibly disappointed by the experience. From the very start, it was clear that the crew, especially Captain Vincenzo, had little regard for the safety and comfort of the passengers. Vincenzo was speeding the boat throughout the trip, making the ride unnecessarily rough and uncomfortable. It felt reckless and, quite frankly, dangerous at times. On top of that, both Captain Vincenzo and Osama, who was assisting him, spent the entire day vaping onboard. The smell of vapor was constant and overpowering, making it difficult to enjoy the beautiful views. It felt unprofessional and inconsiderate, especially since there was no effort to keep this habit away from passengers. For a tour that should have been peaceful and relaxing, this was anything but. I can’t recommend this tour to anyone looking for a pleasant experience, as the behavior of the crew completely ruined what could have been a fantastic day.

This was the highlight of our trip. Went with my family (2 teenagers), we all had a blast. The crew was amazing, it felt like we were hanging out with friends. Andrea, Osama, and Martin were excellent. They were professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. They made sure we were safe and had fund at the same time. Couldn't have asked for anything more. Thanks guys for a great memory! Hope to see you again on our next trip.
