One of the few Capri tours that covers it all: an around-the-island boat tour, swim stops, and the option to visit the Blue Grotto. Small groups, up to 10/12 people per boat.

Capri Boat Tour with Swimming and Blue Grotto Option is a shared boat tour around Capri operated by Capri Whales, departing from Marina Grande in boats carrying 10 to 12 passengers, with one or two swim stops depending on the departure.
Two of the three departures — 10:00 am and 1:30 pm, both 3 hours — stop at the Blue Grotto (Grotta Azzurra). Entry is not included and you will transfer to an authorized rowing boat. The wait at the entrance averages about one hour, and the Grotto closes when there is wind, rough sea or high tide.

The 2:30 pm departure skips the Grotto and includes a second swim stop instead.

The tour runs with a minimum of 4 participants. If the minimum is not reached, we will contact you to arrange a new departure time; if none works for you, your deposit is refunded in full.
Payment:
Payment: 50% of the total amount is charged at the time of booking. The remaining 50% is due on the day of the service directly at our office in cash or card.
Meeting point:
Via Cristoforo Colombo 17, Marina Grande — our "Gennarino e Cindy – Capri Whales" shop, under the yellow awning, to the left of the funicular station.
Please check in 15 minutes before departure.
At the shop:
 Swimsuits for men, women, and children, towels, sunscreen, hats, snorkel masks, and beach bags. Anything you forgot, you can buy here before you board.
 Snack bars, delis, a pharmacy, and an ATM are all within a short walk.
Please note:
This tour goes around the island with one or two swim stops, on boats carrying 10–12 people.
Two of the three departures also stop at the Blue Grotto: entry costs €19 on site and the wait is usually around an hour, so a 3-hour departure spends about a third of its time in the queue. If you're traveling with young children or have a ferry to catch, the 2:30 pm departure skips the Grotto and gives you a second swim stop instead.

The meeting point for tours by Capri Whales departing from Marina Grande is at the "Gennarino e Cindy" shop (see the map), immediately recognizable by the yellow awning, located looking at the funicular stop on the left, on Via Cristoforo Colombo, 17. The shop sells swim suits for men, women, and children, towels, sunblock, hats, beach bags, etc...if you need something for your boat tour, you can purchase it here before departure! Near our shop you can also find delicatessens, snack bars, pharmacy and ATM

Very disappointing and unprofessional experience with Capri Whales. After losing an anchor, the company charged us €120, even though the rental agreement clearly stated that the maximum charge for a lost anchor was €41. When we requested a refund of the €79 difference, they initially claimed that the prices in the agreement were outdated and needed to be updated. Later, they changed their explanation and said that the amounts listed in the agreement were only minimum charges, although the contract clearly states that they are the maximum possible charges for damage. The company then argued that the prices listed in the agreement were too low and that they could not buy a replacement anchor for €41. However, regardless of their current replacement costs, €41 was the maximum amount explicitly stated in the agreement that both parties had accepted. Despite the clear wording of their own agreement, they refused to refund the overcharged amount. I feel that we were misled and unfairly charged. Customers should be able to rely on the prices and conditions stated in a rental agreement. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this company. I strongly advise other customers to carefully check the contract, retain all documents and payment records, and clarify every potential additional charge in writing before renting.

This was an excellent experience from start to finish, we sought out Capri Whales specifically due to strong reviews but did struggle to find them along the marina, im so glad we percerviered with finding them by walking further down the marina away from the larger providers. The staff we encountered were incredibly friendly and accomodating especially our driver Luigi who was outstanding. His knowledge of the area, stories and little nuggets of information really brought the trip to life for us. We felt very safe with Luigi on the water and found him warm and accommodating. Also found the staff in the shop and those managing the water taxi warm and friendly too. The boat tour was absolutely stunning, the boat was clean and beautifuly preserved and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. A real highlight of our holiday!

The overall experience (starting from the first contact, price range and then, the pinnacle, which was the extraordinary service) was 10/10. Actually, it was 1000/10! Pietro, our skipper, is an encyclopedia in the region and a GREAT driver/pilot/commander! Recommend 10/10

FAQ - Frequently asked questions

What happens if the Blue Grotto is closed that day?

The Blue Grotto closes when there is wind, rough sea or high tide. When that happens, the tour adds a second swim stop instead of the Grotto visit. Since the ticket entry is paid on site only if you go in, you don't pay it on a day the Grotto is closed.

What happens if the minimum number of participants isn't reached?

The tour needs 4 participants to run. If that number isn't reached for your departure, Capri Whales contacts you to move you to another time slot. If the new time doesn't work for you, the tour is cancelled at no charge. You can also cancel on your own, free of charge, up to 24 hours before departure.

Is the stop to visit the Blue Grotto included in this tour?

Yes, if you choose the 3-hour option departing at 10:00 or 13:30.
The boat will stop outside the entrance so you can transfer to the small rowing boats (the only ones authorized to enter). The ticket is paid directly on site.
Important: the average wait is about 1 hour, and the cave may be closed due to wind, rough seas or high tide.

How many swimming stops are included in the tour?

As a rule, there is one swimming stop. On 3-hour tours, if there is no Blue Grotto stop, there will be two swimming stops.
Stops and durations depend on weather and sea conditions and safety: the skipper will choose the best spots.

Are there toilets on board?

No, the boats do not have toilets. However, there is an outdoor freshwater shower to rinse off after swimming.

Is the tour suitable for children?

Yes, the tour is suitable for families with children. Life jackets for all ages are available on board.
We recommend choosing the option without the Blue Grotto, as the wait to enter can be very long and tiring for children.
