Excellent experience, I recommend that everyone who loves freedom on two wheels visit the wonderful island of Capri and rent from the Oasi business. First of all, Cristian was very kind in giving us directions for getting around and visiting the island; he brought the scooter to our accommodation so we didn't have to go down from Anacapri to pick it up. Excellent service, new and efficient scooter, it is only right to leave a positive review.

5 deluxe a gentleman the owner is DARIO exceptional collaborator magnificent unique I advise you not to look at any other place because it has no competitors and then the other one that is there without disparaging anyone is unpleasant and with little desire to work, back to us the owner Raniero was so kind as to introduce us and explain to us how to have fun and fully enjoy our scooter excursion all along the island, it was a godsend we did everything independently having fun and tracing magnificent and unforgettable memories in our hearts Thanks for everything

FAQ - Frequently asked questions

Where do you pick up the scooter in Capri and should you book ahead?
The scooter is picked up at the Oasi Motor shop at Via Cristoforo Colombo 47. In the center of Marina Grande. Across from the tobacco shop: a short walk from the ferry dock. Booking online means the scooter is ready at the chosen time. With no hunting for an agency with your bags in hand. The island map with sights and parking and open roads: comes with it. The service is bookable on Capri.com and operated by Oasi Motor.
Can visitors bring their own scooter or motorcycle to Capri?
No from April to October non-resident vehicles are not allowed to board the ferries to Capri. The ban covers scooters and motorcycles and cars. It lasts the whole tourist season. In those months the only way to ride around the island on two wheels is a rental picked up on Capri and the shop is a few steps from the dock.
How much does an hourly scooter rental cost in Capri?
The hourly rental costs €30 for 2 hours and €45 for 3 hours. Rising to €60 for 5 hours and €75 for 6 hours. The price is per scooter not per person: the 50cc carries up to two. You choose the rental length when you book together with the day and the pickup time. Rates checked in September 2026.
What does the rental include and what is paid separately?
The price includes fuel helmets insurance. Around-the-clock assistance every day of the week with a replacement scooter in case of a breakdown and the island map with parking lots and roads open to traffic. There is no need to refuel before returning the scooter. The only extra is parking fees paid on the spot where you stop.
Can you ride down to Marina Piccola on a scooter in summer?
In summer Marina Piccola is a ZTL (limited traffic zone) with no scooter parking so riding down there is not worth it. With a summer rental the right targets are Anacapri. The Punta Carena lighthouse and the Blue Grotto (Grotta Azzurra) where public parking lots are available. Outside the season the road opens up again. Marina Piccola goes back on the route.
Where do you park the scooter in Capri town and Anacapri?
You cannot ride into either historic center because both Capri town and Anacapri are closed to traffic. In Capri town the scooter stays at the Due Golfi roundabout and you walk on to the Piazzetta. In Anacapri the public lots are at the intersection of Via Caprile and Via Pagliaro. Two more handy stops are the piazzola di Pino for the forts and the piazzetta di Orrico for Damecuta. Near the two centers parking is paid and not part of the rental. At the Punta Carena lighthouse and near the Blue Grotto (Grotta Azzurra) it is free.
How long does it take from Anacapri to the Punta Carena lighthouse by scooter?
From Via Caprile in Anacapri the Punta Carena lighthouse beach is a 10-minute scooter ride. It is the one beach on the island that keeps the sun until sunset. With the Lido del Faro restaurant for seafood and the da Antonio beach bar for a sandwich. On the way back the piazzola di Pino parking area is the stop for one of the old forts.
Is a Capri scooter rental a good idea with little two-wheel experience?
A scooter suits riders who have handled one before: Capri's roads are narrow. Steep and full of tight switchbacks and the rental shop runs a short riding test at pickup. You need an ID and an Italian AM license or its international equivalent. An Italian car license includes it. Skip it if you have never ridden a scooter: take the bus or a taxi instead.
Is a scooter or public transportation better for seeing the island in a few hours?
On a scooter you set your own pace skip the wait for public transportation and in one morning you reach Capri town and Anacapri and the Punta Carena lighthouse. Buses and the funicular tie you to schedules and to lines at the stops. Both historic centers are pedestrian though and you explore them on foot anyway: anyone staying in Capri town alone does not need a scooter.
Is the by-the-hour rental open all year and at what hours?
Yes the by-the-hour option runs all year round. In winter the shop closes from 1:30 to 3:00 PM and on Sundays so set the pickup for the morning or after 3:00 PM. From April onward it is open every day and assistance answers 24/7.
Does the hourly rental make sense with only a few hours on the island?
Yes it is built for short stays: pick up at the port as soon as you land and choose a 2- or 3-hour slot. That is enough to reach Anacapri and the Punta Carena lighthouse. 10 minutes from the Via Caprile intersection and ride back without rushing. Adding the Blue Grotto (Grotta Azzurra) and the forts calls for the 5- or 6-hour slot. It is not the right choice for anyone who has never ridden a scooter.
