Casa Mariantonia, situated in the center of Anacapri has been providing hospitality to visitors to the island of Capri since it first opened its doors to guests at the start of the 20th century.

Restored to perfection

Completely renovated in 2007, this historic hotel has a total of 6 double bedrooms and 2 suites of various dimensions, all of which open out on to large private terraces overlooking the beautifully kept gardens and swimming pool.

Rooms are fitted with the latest in audiovisual and communication technology including satellite LCD televisions and Wi-Fi.

Famous faces, legendary liqueurs

Mariantonia Farace, the original proprietor of the establishment, was among the first islanders to provide accommodation to the growing numbers of visitors to Capri.

Among the many guests to have stayed in her hotel, we find the names of the author Alberto Moravia, the physician and writer Axel Munthe and Totò, the legendary Neapolitan comedian.

It was at Casa Mariantonia that the Limoncello di Capri was born; a sweet and refreshing liqueur made with the succulent lemons grown in the garden. Taste it at the end of your dinner at the restaurant La Zagara in the courtyard of the residence.

Try also a glass of wine, the hors d'oeuvres, or cheese and charcuterie plates at the Zagara Wine Bar in the main street in Anacapri.

The current owner withholds the past traditions of hospitality which, together with the idyllic setting and stunning views of Monte Solaro and across the sea to the island of Ischia, make Casa Mariantonia a true haven of relaxation and comfort.

Experience the Real Island of Capri

We enjoyed the peace and quiet of this lovely hotel in Anna Capri for 5 nights, Stayed in a newly remodeled luxury apartment owned by the Hotel (Rm, #206). We had great views of the Mediterranean on a large terrace, and the front door of the building was in the center of boutique shopping and restaurants, if so inclined. The restaurant in the hotel's lemon garden was a great outdoor dining experience Met the owner and family, along with many excellent staff members. A great option for people who prefer Anna Capri over the hustle and bustle of lower Capri

Disappointed

We stayed here based on reviews and decided to splurge because of it but were disappointed. We paid over $1000 USD a night for a suite. Upon checkin, we were put in an unattractive apartment building a block away from the actual hotel. The apartment itself was beautiful and had a great view, but had many maintenance issues where electricity kept going out (went out 4 times, some sort of breaker kept blowing), and the electronic shades broke multiple times. It was like someone's apartment, perhaps the owner, not part of the hotel. I did not want to stay in an airbnb, but that is what it was like. We did not feel we got the experience of the boutique hotel we paid for. The manager was nice and gave us a credit for dinner but that was really insufficient considering the disappointment and constant maintenance problems. They said there was nothing they could do because we had pre-paid. That was a weak reason. The breakfast was good and the restaurant there was very good. The first night we got there there was a wedding and they closed the pool & restaurant. They basically took over the whole hotel which I really didn't think was fair to other guests, plus of course the noise late into the night. I would stay somewhere else next time, especially bearing in mind the very high price. I'm sure there are better options.
