Located in one of the most beautiful corners of the island of Capri in the panoramic countryside of Anacapri and just steps from the Migliera scenic overlook, Da Gelsomina has been a favorite amongst locals and holidaymakers for decades.

Featured in numerous international restaurant guides, Da Gelsomina is famous for its traditional island dishes, authentic homemade wine, and magnificent views out over the Bay of Naples. You can have lunch or dinner under the pergola with the quiet countryside stretching in all directions, and sample the local specialties like "rabbit alla cacciatora", "pollo al mattone", "ravioli capresi", and "spaghetti alla chiummenzana", tossed with fresh tomatoes.

If you're worried about how to get to Da Gelsomina, relax! Guests of the restaurant, pool, and B&B can all use the free shuttle service to and from central Piazza Caprile in Anacapri.

Merveilleux restaurant à anacapri Le meilleur où l’on ait mangé de tout notre séjour à Capri. La salade caprese est à tomber. Le reste aussi. La vie est à couper le souffle. La Balade dans les jardins aussi. C’était un très bon moment.

Siamo stati in questo posto per cena seguendo il consiglio di una persona nativa di Anacapri. Abbiamo ordinato due piatti di pasta , uno con il sugo al coniglio e l’altro con il pesce. Sono arrivati dopo un’ora e mezzo e dopo tante insistenze on i camerieri e alla fine quello che è arrivato sono stai due piatti con della pasta sciapissima Arrivati al conto ci hanno presentato la ricevuta di 106€ per un paio di piatti di pasta, due calici di vino e una bottiglia d’acqua Vergognoso il comportamento, nemmeno le scuse Da evitare assolutamente!!

Credo che il pesce ai ristoratori anacapresi sia stato imposto dai turisti. Il cuore vero della cucina dell’isola sta nella terra e nei suoi meravigliosi frutti. Quindi verdure e pollame o coniglio dall’aia. Lasciate stare il pesce e gustatevi le meravigliose polpette di melanzana e le fettuccine al sugo di coniglio di cui serberete il ricordo genuino. Poi la semplicità di un pollo al mattone partendo da una ottima materia prima o un coniglio al sugo come mai ne ho mangiato in vita mia. Alla fine solo qualche eccellente ciliegia bianca locale per digerire. Occhio al finocchietto, a fine pasto ha il suo ruolo!

A Unique and Enjoyable Dining Experience, Over and Over

Based on at least a dozen dinner visits over the past decade, Da Gelsomina is one of our very favorite restaurants in Italy and the world -- for several reasons. Capo Pasquale and his team of Raffaele, Massimo, Mariano and others are welcoming, warm, attentive and gracious hosts. With a reservation, it's possible to get a table in view of absolutely world class sunsets, as we were fortunate to do twice this May. For seafood and vegetable lovers like us, the menu is full of excellent choices which arrive at the table looking like works of art and tasting even better. The wine of the house (which is actually made on the extensive Da Gelsomina property) is tasty and reasonably priced. For us, one of the many highlights is the half hour walk (in lush, verdant surroundings with great views) it takes to get to the restaurant from the center of Anacapri, where we stay (the hotel's shuttle bus takes diners back to town). If only we lived much closer to Anacapri and could visit Da Gelsomina on a regular basis!
