In the historic center of Capri, in Via Vittorio Emanuele, road famous for its exclusive boutiques and designer shopping, the elegant Hotel Gatto Bianco & Spa is one of the island's oldest hotels.

A history of hospitality

The origins of the Gatto Bianco date back to the early 19th century when Carmela Esposito welcomed the first visitors to what was, at the time, an Inn.

Over the years , the hotel was to become the chosen island residence of a string of world famous celebrities including Jack Lemmon, Jacqueline Kennedy, Sofia Loren and Clark Gable

Welcome to paradise

Guests are greeted in the spacious, light filled hall before being accompanied to their bedrooms, bedrooms characterized by the vaulted ceilings and exquisite majolica paving tiles found in all of the island's most elegant villas.
The rooms lead out on to delightful private terraces overlooking the garden or across the roof tops of Capri.

I have been going to Capri for years; this was my first time at this hotel. Unfortunately, I cannot confirm the reviews that speak of kindness. In Capri, I have always found welcoming and very kind staff. I arrived early for check-in; the room was ready, but I was not given the keys. I left my bag (and I found it later) at the reception in the evening. What else would be missing!) I was given the key and directed to the floor. Spacious and clean room, but frankly, the sink had a semi-blocked drain and the shower was not up to the level of a 4-star hotel in Capri. The breakfast staff was very kind. I will return to Capri, but not to the White Cat.

I love this hotel. Perfect location for seeing Capri. The only complaint I have is that I didn't get to meet the gatto bianco. Some old man insisted on taking her away.
