In the historic center of Capri, in Via Vittorio Emanuele, road famous for its exclusive boutiques and designer shopping, the elegant Hotel Gatto Bianco & Spa is one of the island's oldest hotels.

A history of hospitality

The origins of the Gatto Bianco date back to the early 19th century when Carmela Esposito welcomed the first visitors to what was, at the time, an Inn.

Over the years , the hotel was to become the chosen island residence of a string of world famous celebrities including Jack Lemmon, Jacqueline Kennedy, Sofia Loren and Clark Gable

Guests are greeted in the spacious, light filled hall before being accompanied to their bedrooms, bedrooms characterized by the vaulted ceilings and exquisite majolica paving tiles found in all of the island's most elegant villas.
The rooms lead out on to delightful private terraces overlooking the garden or across the roof tops of Capri.

An unique location in the hart of Capri. We had our wedding at Villa Lysis and satyed at Gatto Bisnco. We had the wedding make up for the pride from the Spa. Spa service was perfect. Hotel was clean and breakfast was ok as 🇫🇮 standards. Hotel service was more than friendly. After our wedding we got a bottle of good spumante and beach bag as a souvernier. We highly recommend this hotel.

Incredibile experience. Well located. The bus terminal is 2 minutes walking. There are plenty of restaurants and stores around. The room is super comfortable. Breakfast is super well prepared. Staff are friendly. Definitely, i would recommend it, and I would return here.

Ci vengo da anni. E non conosco una sola persona che qui al Gattobianco non abbia trovato suggestioni di una capri che va scomparendo… gestito con amore dalla stessa famiglia da un secolo… sono gli unici che non vendono ai Grand’ Gruppi . Sono gli ultimi custodi di un’ospitalità vecchio stampo. oltre al breakfast servito nel giordino fiorito delle sirene servono la lettura dei quotidiani. Imperdibili le passeggiate culturali al tramonto del professore Renato Esposito che racconta la Capri Omerica…

Good location but not comfortable or friendly

They told me to take a taxi from Port ($35) but never offered their pickup luggage service which is required given the location. Walking on cobblestones with luggage is not good or even an option if you have more than one bag. Then we were greeted by a not friendly person!! the only friendly people were the breakfast servers. They did however, get us into a beach resort for $60 eu pp which was a nice way to spend the day. The hotel itself is pretty, but the spa services are not available or you need to book them way in advance. The location is perfect, in the middle of shopping and dining. Plenty of places to eat. I booked a room for three and was given a queen size bed and a cot. The cot felt like I was sleeping on the floor!!! not comfortable at all neither wear the pillows. The shower head was in the middle of the tub and therefore very hard to shower against the shower curtain. The rooms are spacious and the hotel is very quiet.
