Do you want to sample the most authentic island dishes while visiting Capri, in a beautiful location with true Mediterranean charm? La Zagara, the restaurant at the Casa Mariantonia boutique hotel in Anacapri, has pretty tables set up for lunch or dinner under the shady lemon grove and serves both a full menu of traditional recipes from Capri and wine by the glass for an elegant drink in the exclusive wine bar.

Under a Canopy of Lemon Blossoms

A meal at La Zagara is the perfect occasion to savor the authentic hospitality of the island, particularly of Anacapri, while relaxing under the shade of the lemon grove surrounded by the scent of island citrus flowers and fruit.

Traditional island flavors are at center stage, with dishes created by the chef that combine historic island recipes with a contemporary touch, making the meal a perfect blend of flavor and creativity.

The menu at La Zagara captures the essence of Mediterranean cuisine with both meat and seafood dishes, including linguine with yellow cherry tomatoes and the traditional "colatura di alici" anchovy sauce from nearby Cetara and tortellone alla "Mariantonia", tossed with clams, zucchini, and lemon, all followed by excellent desserts.

No meal is complete without a a cool glass of homemade limoncello liqueur... an island specialty!

Aperitivo, Capri-Style

La Zagara also welcomes guests to sample excellent local fare at its vinoteca La Zagara wine bar, which serves wine by the glass and finger food each evening for those who want to enjoy an "aperitivo" in Anacapri. The wine bar is the perfect spot to enjoy a warm summer evening with friends, or a glass of wine before diving into the nightlife of Capri.

Relax in the informal, friendly atmosphere of the wine bar and order a glass of wine accompanied by delicious finger food to begin an unforgettable evening on the island!

The wine bar is open from 6 pm to 1 am

Outrageously expensive for what you get!

Beautiful and very atmospheric, dinner in a lemon grove. Service was good. The food was mediocre at best and adding a 150% on to the price for a bottle of wine is completely unacceptable. Outrageously expensive for what you get! But this is Capri! And as the waiter candidly noted: the Italians do not really come here!

I’ve wanted to go here since my last trip to Anacapri five years ago to dine among the lemon trees. It’s a beautiful and unique setting for a restaurant and absolutely did not disappoint from that perspective. However our waiter was inattentive despite the restaurant being almost empty. We had to ask several times for lemon wedges and then again for milk for our tea. The food was good but very overpriced. We shared a sea bass for two which was €114 alone! Insane.

A perfect evening in a lemon orchard!

This was the most beautiful, intimate experience in the middle of a lemon orchard! I can’t decide what was the most brilliant about it…the atmosphere, the service, the wine list, the food…it was all amazing! It was so great that we returned again, unannounced, the next day and they welcomed us back in! What a perfect experience x 2. Next time we will stay at the hotel. Thank you so much for the memorable experience(s)!

As all the reviews say, the setting is absolutely stunning. Perfect for someone who wants photos for the 'gram to impress their followers. Sadly, the food is expensive, in tiny portions and absolutely mediocre. To add to the mediocrity, my husband's ravioli was served stone cold and even worse the waiter coughed on both of our dishes as he approached our table. We had a conflab between us and decided not to complain as neither of us were particularly impressed with our dishes, instead we at what hadn't been spluttered on, paid up and went to the supermarket round the corner! We thought maybe that it was our own fault that our dishes were tiny but on investigation, there wasn't a side dishes menu we had missed - and even if there was it should be good practice for the waiting staff to point this out. We had considerably better experiences and better value for money at the local Trattoria's and cafes, for the same or lower costs as here.
