Hotel Mamela

We always return with pleasure to the hotel Mamela now a landmark on Capri. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the breakfast varied and quality, and the pool is perfect for relaxing. Also excellent is the pool bar and restaurant, with attentive service and very good dishes a special praise to Yapa. But what really makes this hotel special is the staff. Everyone is kind, professional and always ready to help, but a special thanks goes to Francesco who follows us from the moment of booking. Throughout your stay she takes care of every detail, anticipating our needs and making sure everything is perfect. Such personalized attention is really rare to find. It is thanks to this combination of excellent services and human attention that we keep coming back: here we do not feel mere customers, but guests welcomed with warmth and professionalism.

We stayed at this wonderful hotel for 4 days in late April. Upon our arrival we were offered a very large sea view suite with immense terrace well above the one we had booked and it was an extremely appreciated gesture. Breakfast on the sea impeccable, very varied that satisfies both sweet lovers and those who prefer salty.... fresh specialties and impeccable service of the waiting staff. All taken care of in detail. A special praise to Francesco who followed us during our stay making it unforgettable and, note not recently, I emphasize that Francesco made sure that we could use our room until early afternoon, which allows a relaxed departure and to enjoy all the comforts before the return trip. Every customer need is met and the staff is exquisitely kind and smiling. We will definitely come back to you. Thank you for the great welcome and for making our holiday in the wonderful Capri even more beautiful.

I stayed at Hotel Mamela in July 2025 for my 50th birthday, expecting a special and memorable experience for my family. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the most disappointing hotel stays I’ve ever had despite spending nearly €10,000 there for the week. The room was not properly cleaned on arrival, there was a used shower cap hanging in the bathroom, the sink was blocked and emitted a foul smell, and we had to repeatedly ask for basic essentials such as toilet paper, soap, and bathrobes. The water pressure in the shower was so poor that it only worked properly on a few days of our stay. Despite raising these issues several times, management offered little help, no gesture, no apology, nothing. To make matters worse, the hotel incorrectly charged me for an “extra person” even though there was absolutely no additional guest staying in the room. I raised this issue and was assured it would be corrected, but it never was. After many emails, the hotel finally apologized and promised a €600 refund as a goodwill gesture. I provided all requested bank details immediately, yet months later, no refund has ever been paid. For a property positioning itself as a luxury hotel, this level of service and lack of accountability is unacceptable. It’s not just about the money; it’s about integrity, honesty, and respect for guests. I would strongly advise others to think twice before booking here. There are many other hotels in Capri that truly understand what hospitality means, sadly, this is not one of them.

The hotel was truly beautiful, rooms, pool and restaurant but really made the difference is the incredible staff and services. We really felt at home and loved it so much that we came back after 3 weeks for a shorter stay!
