Guided Walks and Itineraries around Capri

  • Visit the hidden corners of Capri
  • Founded by three young islanders with a deep love of Capri
  • A vast selection of scheduled events and walks (not just on Capri!)

Love for the island of Capri and the desire to introduce visitors (and residents) to its more authentic side are the two motivations behind the Nesea Cultural Association, founded by a group of young women for whom the island not just a playground for the yachterati, but a land rich in history, culture, and unique landscapes.

Since 2010, Nesea Capri Tour has been organizing eductional itineraries, creative workshops, guided tours - both cultural and gourmet - and literary and artistic events.

Nesea's organized events and tours are aimed at highlighting Capri's culture through the traditions and local people who have made this island famous the world over.

Nesea offers two types of itineraries: historic and hiking.

  • Historic

Medieval Capri: From the Piazzetta to the Certosa di San Giacomo, where visitors can view the works of Karl Wilhelm Diefenbach. (2 hours)

Villa Fersen - Amori et Dolori Sacrum: A walk through the stories and legends of the Tiberius' historic residences with breathtaking views over Marina Grande and Vesuvius. (2 hours)

In the Heart of Anacapri: A route along the churches and lanes of the highest village on Capri leading to the Villa San Michele, founded by the Swede Axel Munthe, where there is one of the most beautiful scenic overlooks on the island. (2 hours)

Giardino della Memoria: An exploration of the Cimitero acattolico di Capri (Capri's Protestant cemetary), where artists, poets, writers, and musicians who have loved (and honored) Capri now lay. (1 hour)

  • Hiking

From Villa Jovis to Villa Lysis: A trail marked by sites and stories of the archaeology, history, and nature on Capri from the Roman period to the 1800s. (4 hours)

From the Arco Naturale stone archway to the Belvedere di Tragara scenic overlook: Discover the'geological evolution of Capri in the context of the Sorrento Penisola, passing Matermania and following a trail that skirts the sea and ends at Villa Malaparte. (2 hours)

Our guide Giusy Perrota was fabulous. She met us at our hotel and provided us a 3-4 hour tour around the heart of Amalfi and Anacapri, sharing with us her knowledge since a child growing up on the island to the history she learned in school. She was very open to answering our many questions and her passion for the people, country and food were felt during the tour. She gave us other recommendations of things to do and places to eat. I would definitely request her again as a guide.

Capri in style

I couldn’t have picked a better excursion with nicer people. I contacted Nesea via their website and listed what we hoped to see whilst in Capri. Melania was incredible, happy and understanding whilst remaining flexible with our initial trip being delayed twice, via a total of 18-months. A couple of days before our visit, Melania emailed to explain that whilst they were happy to facilitate our tour, bad weather was going to make it difficult to achieve everything we wanted and suggested postponing by 24-hours when the sea should be calmer. By this time, our relationship had grown so I knew that I would be silly to ignore her advice and so it turned out. Having swapped things around so we could visit on the suggested date, Melania made their arrangements and gave me Roberta’s number. On the day, whilst on the ferry to Capri, I texted Roberta who reassured me she was waiting for us at the Marina and there she was, upon our arrival. We quickly boarded our gorgeous private boat with Roberta and the extremely polite and capable captain and sailed around Capri. This couldn’t have been achieved the previous initial date due to bad weather and even the ferry from Amalfi was cancelled. After visiting the parts we requested, we stopped for a quick coffee break and got in a limo-style cab with Roberta, straight to Anacapri. Roberta walked us around the whole town, pausing for us to visit the limoncello factory and purchase some items before taking us to the gardens and showing us many hidden gems that we wouldn’t have found without her. All this was accomplished with her Capri guide pass which got us straight pass the waiting queues. After thoroughly enjoying the mountains, back in a cab and down to Capri, grabbing a quick lunch and a guided tour at sea level. We got to see the whole of Capri via sea, mountains and sea level before boarding our ferry back to Amalfi. All this with an incredible guide who was knowledgeable and flexible throughout. We met another couple at our hotel in Amalfi who had visited Capri on the ferry with us and they felt disappointed that they didn’t see half the things we did because they didn’t have Nesea on their side. I highly recommend Nesea Capri to everyone, no matter what you’re looking for, if it’s in Capri, do yourselves a favour and contact Nesea.
