For more than a century, the Aurora restaurant and pizzeria, owned by the D'Alessio family, has been serving visitors to Capri with the finest food and wine.

Traditional treats with a pinch of creativity

The restaurant, on the fashionable Via Fuorlovado, has gained wide spread international acclaim for its excellent Mediterranean cuisine and for its traditional Neapolitan and Caprese specialties to which Chef Franco Aversa adds that sprinkling of culinary innovation, which places the Aurora among the most exclusive restaurants on the island.

Order as starter the famous pizza all'acqua, an original old recipe of pizza, served with mozzarella and red peppers.

The Aurora restaurant was among the very first establishments to introduce a selection of quality wines to Capri and over the years has continued to seek out the very best Italian and International wines.

I went to lunch at the restaurant with family today. The service was ugly and rude. The food came cold The mignon filé we ordered was far from a mignon filé. 2nd meat. In short, it was the 2nd time I went to the restaurant but the last. A shame. The environment is not compatible with the poor quality of service and food. I do not recommend it to anyone.

The food was delicious, but unfortunately the waiters were unfriendly. Just like most restaurants in Capri, you get handled easily. As a summary of the hype surrounding this restaurant is incomprehensible to us. We had a delicious evening but value for money doesn't fit in the end. You pay 35 euros for a pizza that is more like a tarte flambée. We shared starter and main course, two desserts and drinks 180 euros... No recommendation!!!

We were not convinced to try this place but we were really satisfied with the dishes! Very high quality! Exceptional prawns! The table they gave us was not the best, near the kitchen! And it wasn't that crowded! At the end they offer you some house sweets so you finish the wine in company! Nice idea! Now we come back to try the pizza!!!
