A most wonderful week

Impossible to fault as a base for exploring the length and breadth of the island which is beautiful. We were immediately given a wonderful welcome on arrival by Luigi and Louisa which set the tone for the whole week, with also Sylvia, Franco, Daniel, Giovanni (and the owner Toni) all being incredibly engaging and helpful at all times. Sylvia and Louisa on reception were very helpful suggesting where to have an evening meal, booking the restaurant and organising to be taken and collected whenever possible. They also gave great recommendations as to where to visit and how to get there. The room was excellent, very clean and comfortable with a large terrace with a gorgeous view across the Tyrrhenian sea towards Ischia. There is a lovely pool, towels are provided, also a bar with waiter service. There is a very convenient bus service which stops just outside the hotel which can take you to the Blue Grotto and also into Anacapri and on to Capri. It’s an easy 10minute walk to Anacapri though, and only about a 3km downhill walk to the Grotto. I’d suggest a torch for walking back from Anacapri at night. All in all a gem of a hotel with possibly the best staff we have ever met. We will definitely be staying again.

We booked at the last minute to spend 24h in the middle of nature, and beyond that we found an atmosphere of kindness, hospitality and unexpected harmony. It's me, my husband and our son Noah who generally eats almost nothing, thanks to the dishes we enjoyed both for lunch and dinner we saw him brush everything from the first to the last course, genuine and delicious dishes, well-equipped structure for children that offers outdoor games but also indoors, and also by reservation organizes workshops for truly magnificent children! Not to mention the great sleep we had thanks to the super relaxing atmosphere... Rating 10 to Valentina, very special hostess! Cecilia, Alexander and Noah

Lovely hotel with comfortable beds, newly refurbished rooms and incredibly service-oriented staff. The staff helped us with every little thing and made us feel very comfortable throughout our stay. Definitely coming back. Got a completely different impression of Capri than when we were on a day trip last year

Another Perfect Stay

This was our fourth stay at Orsa Maggiore and once again it was just wonderful. Capri is a really special place and staying at Orsa Maggiore makes it just perfect. We stayed for 10 nights and even though this was our fourth stay on the island we still found things to do that we hadn't done before. The whole team work so hard especially Silvia, Antonella, Luisa, Franco and Luigi who all go above and beyond to ensure that everything is just perfect. The housekeeping team also kept our room spotless. We would highly recommend anyone to stay at Orsa Maggiore and will always return. Thank you everyone for a lovely holiday.

On one side the green slopes of Monte Solaro, on the other a magnificent view of the sea. Hotel Orsa Maggiore is located in Anacapri, a pleasant ten minute walk away from the town's picturesque historic center, on the road which leads to Capri's legendary Grotta Azzurra.

The chairlift to the summit of Monte Solaro, the Casa Rossa Museum and the Church of San Michele are just some of the nearby tourist attractions. The fashionable Piazzetta of Capri and the island's beaches are no more than a twenty minute taxi or bus ride away.

The hotel provides a free shuttle service on arrival and departure.
