Motoscafisti and Laser Capri two companies which offer organized tours tickets for these group tours can be purchased directly at their offices in Marina Grande or book online in advance. Private Capri Boat Tours (have the boat to yourself)
Boat tours around Capri depart from Marina Grande on Capri, or you can choose a tour that departs from Sorrento, the Amalfi Coast, or Naples. Booking in advance is required. You can choose between traditional “gozzi” or motorboats. The shortest island tour lasts 2 hours, but you can also book 3-, 4-, or 7-hour tours. If you want to visit the Blue Grotto, you’ll need at least a 3-hour tour.

Most organized boat tours around Capri include a stop at the famous Blue Grotto, or the Grotta Azzurra. Those who are interested in entering the cave must disembark from their tour boat and enter on one of the waiting rowboats, which are small enough to pass through the cave's mouth. Entrance tickets much be purchased separately at 18 euro per person for a short 5-minute visit.

What type of boats are used for Capri tours?
The most common boat used for island tours is the "gozzo caprese" (or "gozzo sorrentino"), a traditional wooden boat with a spacious sun deck. There are different types and sizes of gozzo boats, and the largest can fit up to 12 passengers and have a cabin with WC, galley, and enough space to spend an entire day at sea.
What sights are included in a Capri boat tour?
A classic itinerary for a boat tour of Capri begins at Marina Grande, Capri's port, and continues east past Tiberius' Leap, the White Grotto, the Natural Arch, and Villa Malaparte until reaching Marina Piccola after passing beneath the arch in the Faraglioni. Afterwards, tours pass the Punta Carena lighthouse and continue to the northern coastline of the island, stopping to visit the Blue Grotto along the way. At the Blue Grotto, passengers board small rowboats to enter the grotto; there is a floating ticket booth at the grotto entrance to purchase tickets. Finally, the cruise passes the Baths of Tiberius and returns to Marina Grande. Private boat tours also include a stop to swim in the pretty coastal coves and snorkeling in the crystalline water.
